BRUSCHETTA BURGERS

Bruschetta Burgers are a delicious fusion of two Italian-inspired favorites: the classic bruschetta appetizer and a juicy, flavorful burger. Ingredients:

For the burgers:

  • 4 slices fresh mozzarella cheese (optional)

  • 2 cups fresh tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Bruschetta Topping: In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and minced garlic. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir everything together, and set aside to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Prepare the Burger Patties: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties, slightly larger than the buns.
  3. Cook the Burgers: Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness, or longer if you prefer them well done. If using mozzarella cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  4. Assemble the Burgers: Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster. Place a cooked burger patty on the bottom half of each bun, then top with a generous spoonful of the bruschetta mixture. Close with the top half of the bun.
