SLOW ROASTED SALMON

Slow Roasted Salmon is a simple yet elegant way to prepare this rich, flavorful fish. By cooking the salmon gently at a low temperature, the fish becomes tender, flaky, and moist, allowing the natural flavors to shine. The slow roasting method ensures the salmon retains its juiciness and has a melt-in-your-mouth texture. This method also allows for easy customization with various seasonings, from herbs to citrus, making it versatile enough for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. Paired with a light salad or roasted vegetables, slow-roasted salmon is a healthy, satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). This low temperature ensures the salmon cooks slowly and evenly, keeping it moist and tender.
  2. Prepare the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased. Drizzle the fillets with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper. Scatter the minced garlic over the fillets and place lemon slices on top.
  3. Add Herbs: If using fresh rosemary or thyme, tuck a sprig or two around the salmon for added flavor. You can also place the herbs directly on top of the fish for more intense flavor.
  4. Roast the Salmon: Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature of the salmon should reach 125°F (52°C) for medium-rare, or 135°F (57°C) for well-done.
  5. Serve: Remove the salmon from the oven and discard the herb sprigs. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and an extra squeeze of lemon juice, if desired. Serve with your choice of sides like a green salad, roasted vegetables, or rice.

Slow Roasted Salmon is a deliciously easy way to enjoy perfectly cooked salmon with minimal effort. Its mild, natural flavors are enhanced by the gentle roasting method, making it a perfect choice for a healthy, flavorful meal.
