SPINACH OMELETTE

A Spinach Omelette is a simple, nutritious, and flavorful dish that’s perfect for any meal of the day. The light, fluffy eggs are complemented by the freshness of spinach, creating a satisfying combination that’s both healthy and delicious. This omelette is quick to make and can be customized with various additions like cheese, herbs, or other vegetables, but the classic pairing of spinach and eggs provides a perfect balance of flavors. Whether you’re starting your day with a hearty breakfast or enjoying a light lunch, a Spinach Omelette is a great option for a protein-packed, easy-to-make meal.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup fresh spinach, chopped (about a handful)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon milk or water (optional, for fluffier eggs)
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese (optional, such as cheddar or feta)
  • Fresh herbs (optional, such as parsley or chives, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Spinach: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter or olive oil. Once the butter is melted or the oil is hot, add the chopped spinach and sauté for 1-2 minutes until wilted. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. Beat the Eggs: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, a pinch of salt, pepper, and milk or water (if using). Whisk until the mixture is smooth and slightly frothy.
  3. Cook the Omelette: Heat the skillet over medium heat again. Add a small amount of butter or oil if needed. Pour in the egg mixture and swirl the pan gently to ensure the eggs cover the bottom evenly. Allow the eggs to cook undisturbed for about 1-2 minutes until the edges begin to set.
  4. Add the Spinach: Once the edges of the omelette are set but the top is still slightly runny, sprinkle the sautéed spinach evenly over one half of the omelette. If using cheese, sprinkle it over the spinach.
  5. Fold and Serve: Carefully fold the omelette in half using a spatula and cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until the eggs are fully cooked but still tender. Slide the omelette onto a plate and garnish with fresh herbs, if desired.
  6. Enjoy: Serve the spinach omelette hot with a side of toast, fresh fruit, or a simple salad for a well-rounded meal.

A Spinach Omelette is a quick and nutritious option that combines the goodness of fresh spinach with the richness of eggs. It’s versatile, easy to make, and perfect for a light yet satisfying meal.
