GUINNESS BROWNIES

Guinness Brownies are a decadent twist on the classic chocolate brownie, combining the rich, deep flavors of dark stout beer with the intense sweetness of chocolate. The Guinness adds a subtle depth and moisture to the brownies, creating a fudgy, dense texture that’s perfectly balanced by the bitterness of the beer. The chocolate and beer complement each other wonderfully, making for a rich, almost cake-like brownie that’s perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re a fan of Guinness or simply love a good, indulgent dessert, these brownies are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth in a unique way.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Guinness stout beer
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a slight overhang for easy removal.
  2. Reduce the Guinness: In a small saucepan, bring the Guinness to a boil over medium heat. Let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes until the liquid reduces by half, thickening slightly. Set aside to cool.
  3. Melt the Butter and Chocolate: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chopped semi-sweet chocolate together over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and combined. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  4. Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Add the melted chocolate mixture and the reduced Guinness, stirring until smooth.
  5. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Add the Chocolate Chips: If desired, fold in the dark chocolate chips for extra richness and texture.
  7. Bake the Brownies: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). The brownies will continue to set as they cool.
  8. Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment paper. Slice into squares and enjoy!

These Guinness Brownies are a rich, fudgy, and indulgent treat that combines the flavors of beer and chocolate in a way that is truly unforgettable. Perfect for serving at a party or for enjoying with a cold glass of Guinness, they’re sure to be a crowd-pleaser!
